Bathurst 1985 - Grp A

For 1985, the car was very close to the Bond “works" car in preparation.  It had undergone a full rebuild in the run up to the 1985 race, shedding even more weight to be as close as possible to the minimum allowed weight.

Gulson also aquired the latest German long distance pistons and rings from the Luigi Team which put pressure on regular engine man Chris Hedges when they arrived late.  To make qualifying and have the engine nicely run in, Gulson fitted the car with radials and drove it from Canberra to Bathurst.

Ray was joined by Frank Porter as co-driver in the first of his co-driving roles in the car.

Lap times continued to fall, achieving a qualifying time of 2:33.39.  The car finished in 16th outright completing 148 laps with a fastest lap of 2:33.14, and 3rd in Class B, under 3Litre.
