Ray competed in the Group A Touring Car support race at the Australian Grand Prix in 1986. This was Round Two of the South Pacific Touring Car Championship, a five round championship held between October and December with two rounds in Australia and three rounds in NZ. Ray qualified in 30th but was a DNF.
